Privacy Policy

greetcrumbs ("we", "us") makes a greeting-card app for iPhone and iPad. We built it to be private by default. This policy explains what the app does and does not collect. By using greetcrumbs you agree to this policy.

The short version: there is no account and no sign-up. Your cards and drafts stay on your device. We do not sell your data and we do not use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs. The only data that leaves your device is the short prompt used to write a greeting, and the standard requests needed to download artwork and process a purchase.

What the app sends off the device

Greeting text generation. When you ask greetcrumbs to write a card, the inputs you provide (such as the recipient's first name or label, your chosen occasion, relationship, tone, and language) are sent to our writing service at api.greetcrumbs.friendcrumbs.com, which uses a third-party large-language-model provider to generate the text. These inputs are processed to return your card options and are not used to build a profile of you. On supported devices the app may instead generate text on-device using Apple Intelligence, in which case nothing is sent for that step.
Artwork downloads. Card backgrounds and stickers are downloaded from our content server at greetcrumbs.friendcrumbs.com. As with any web request, our hosting provider may log standard technical details (such as IP address and timestamp) to operate and secure the service.
Purchases. greetcrumbs Pro is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase. Apple handles the payment and your billing details. We never see or store your payment information; the app only learns whether your Pro entitlement is active.

What stays on your device

Your cards and drafts are stored locally on your device. They are not uploaded to us and are not synced to any cloud by us.
Your own photos. If you choose a photo as a card background, it is used on-device to compose the card and is not uploaded to us.
Saving to Photos happens only when you choose to, using the system permission.

Age range

Some tones in greetcrumbs are intended for adults. To show age-appropriate options, the app may use Apple's Declared Age Range feature to ask whether you are 18 or older. We receive only a coarse age-range signal (for example, "18 or older" or "not shared"). We do not receive your date of birth, and this signal is used on-device to decide which tones to display. It is not stored on our servers.

Children

greetcrumbs is not directed to children. Mature tones are gated behind the age check described above.

Data we do not collect

We do not require an account, we do not collect contacts, location, or device identifiers for tracking, and we do not include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. We do not sell personal data.

Retention

Greeting-generation requests are processed to return your card and are not retained by us to profile you. Standard server logs are kept only as long as needed to operate and secure the service. Content you keep (cards, drafts) lives on your device until you delete it or remove the app.

Your choices

You can delete any card or draft in the app, and removing the app deletes its local data. You can manage or cancel a subscription in Settings, Apple ID, Subscriptions. For any privacy request, contact us at the address below.

Changes

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
